As crazy as it may sound, Yes, The first in a series of virtual 3d staged festivals are in the final preparations over at Virtualbury.
The line up has been confirmed, Dpavs productions has been creating lifelike animated performances for those artist and bands that have chosen to be seen and heard in this ingenious event.
Not to confuse this with secondlife , The idea is simple yet pretty unique for those who want to gain some online promotion or publicity for their own true music ability.
The video footage of each virtual performance will be uploaded on the morning of halloween 2008 and will be available to watch for the entire lifetime of the website and maybe even some ghoulish decorations around the stage set plus fireworks might will be thrown in for good measures!

Virtualbury: A Virtual Reality 3d Music Festival just waiting to happen
feel free to check out the trailer for virtualbury above and see some of my other work.
Watch your favorite music artist and bands that take part in this 3d virtual music festival called Virtualbury
DPAVS productions brings you an ingenious idea to animate and film your unsigned and signed music artists and bands from all over world and put them onto a big virtual reality music festival staged set!
Who is DPAVS?
DPAVS stands for Dave Paul Virtual Sims.
I am from Manchester, not that far in fact from MediaCity, I have been experimenting in 3d model making and short film animation since 2005.
I have also produced some experimental music suited to the Dance / Club / House genres which you may want to check out here
Now I am pleased to say that the official website for Virtualbury is up and running now, I am in the stages of creating all those music artists and bands virtual 3d stage sets and performances for the world to watch.
Each Artist and Band that gets into Virtualbury will become realistic, animated characters of their trueselves performing their own original music.
I got the idea onto paper after thinking "how many bands would love to jump at the chance to play at a festival, A massive stage set, huge crowds, how many bands can only but dream of this?"
I worked out a strategy of what I understood a festival would enable musicians and bands to achieve, publicity!
Because I can only showcase my work over the internet at this moment in time I have invested in the website, I have added a pixel advertising page which will allow genuine, ambitious music artists and bands an opportunity to advertise their own music website or music profile links in a creative way of choosing where they would like to display their very own banner on the Virtualbury billboard and benefit from a backlink from this strategy.
A Pixel ad sized 100 x 100 which is considered as one block of advertising space will cost $20 payable through paypal, for more info regards this please click here
Once an Artist or Band buy their pixel ad it opens a door for them to have their very own virtualbury profile page set up and ultimately places them on the schedule to be made into a their very own virtual festival performance for FREE!
The Lineups for the Virtualbury music festival starting from October 2008 are shown here you will also be able to view profiles of those who mght just become headliners of the event!
